improve english through movie

To improve my English, today I watching Korean movie and the title of movie is My girl. I watch the movie by English subtitle. I try to understand the movie through the subtitle. If I not understand the meaning of the word in English I will guess the meaning and then check the word in dictionary or ask my friend. I think that way help me to improve my English. My friend also tell me to watch English movie and she said it more better because we can learn how to pronounce correctly. Besides, we can enhance our vocabulary if we do that way. So, the next day, I will to watch English movie to improve our English and pronunciation.

improve english through song

       Today, to improve my English I hear English song. The title is always be there by Maher Zain. For me this song is simple and easy to understand the meaning. Besides, I can enhance my vocabulary from this song.  Vocabulary needs to be revised again and again. So, I studying vocabulary by listening the song. Read the lyrics first and try to understand them. My friend teach me, if we want to improve our English by song, don’t have to translate the lyrics word by word, just try to find out what the song is all about. I want to practice what she said to me. Then, pick some words or phrases from the song that you would like to learn. If necessary, look up their exact meaning in a dictionary. A dictionary might also be useful to find other interesting phrases with the word.

holiday

Hi everybody. It seen like a long time I didn’t write in my blog. So, today I want to write about my holiday before this. For a week I stay at my hometown because I have a midterm holiday and at the same time we as a Muslim will celebrate Aidil Adha. I feel so excited for my holiday. It is the time to me to meet our family and I’m so miss them so much. I spend my holiday with my family properly. My sister and I went for a walk and I’m very enjoying it. My friend came to my house and we talk about ourselves and gossip. Miss them so much and will miss the moment at the primary and secondary school. It so sweet to remember all the memory with them. Besides, my father, brother and my sister have share same month for their birthday. So, they celebrate together. My holiday is meaningful with them. Now, let’s ready for class tomorrow.

Not feeling well

Hi, everyone. Today, I’m not feeling well. Since the end of this week, the weather is not like usually. Sometimes weather is hot and suddenly raining. I feel headache and flu but I didn’t want to take medicine or go to clinic. I just want to take a rest at my house only. Today, I have a guest and she is UPSI master student. She wants to stay for a while at my house because she has a programme for tomorrow at UPSI. So, my friend and I want to cook for our guest. We also get some advices from her to study smart and focus to our study. We feel lucky because get advices from her and she also tell about her experience to us. I’m very happy today although I’m not feeling well. I want to take a rest and see you all again.

My hobby

Today, I want to share about my hobby. Hobby is an interesting and it’s an activity taken up in leisure time. It keeps the people busy and gives pleasure also. Hobbies are of different kinds, different people have different hobbies. My hobby is reading. Reading book is one of my hobbies. I read many types of book such as novel. I’m also like to read magazine and newspaper. We will get much useful knowledge from reading. It also provides knowledge, information and entertainment to our mind. Books brighten our ideas and ennoble our soul. The best knowledge is stored in books written by master minded geniuses. Books are our best guides and honest friends. Reading gives much pleasure. I can enjoy reading if the books have interesting story and good writer. Good books are friends. We can learn much from reading and it’s give us food for the mind. Reading book is the best of all hobbies. It is not very expensive. We can borrow books from libraries. So, reading a lot okay.

Critical thinking

Hi, do you know what is critical thinking? Critical thinking is the ability to think clearly and rationally. Why we should study critical thinking? It because critical thinking is a domain general thinking skill. The ability to think clearly and rationally is important whatever we choose to do. If you work in education, research, finance, management or the legal profession, then critical thinking is obviously important. But critical thinking skills are not restricted to a particular subject area. Being able to think well and solve problems systematically is an asset for any career. Critical thinking also important to enhances language and presentation skills. Thinking clearly and systematically can improve the way we express our ideas. In learning how to analyse the logical structure of texts, critical thinking also improves comprehension abilities. It also promotes creativity. To come up with a creative solution to a problem involves not just having new ideas. It must also be the case that the new ideas being generated are useful and relevant to the task at hand.

How to communicate well

First is state your limits. Communicate your boundaries clearly. State what is acceptable and unacceptable. For example, I am not able to listen to you while you speak at that volume. Please speak to me in a quieter voice and I will be able to listen. Second, communicate directly. Communicate clearly instead of hinting. Third, communicate your feelings. Communicate your feelings instead of clamming up. For example, instead of going quiet for 2 days because you seem to be doing everything for everyone you might say, "I am feeling taken for granted at the moment, please can you help me to do the dishes." Fourth, choose the best friends for you.  Have people around you with similar values to yourself. Gain support from other people who care about the same things you do. For example, if you think looking after the environment matters, or meditation is good for your soul, have people in your life who think the same way. Then, say, "No, thank you" nicely. Learn how to say, "No, thank you" nicely so you can avoid becoming over committed without feeling guilty.

Hi, today I want to share the advantages of using internet. There many advantages to using the internet such as email is now an essential communication tools in business. It is also excellent for keeping in touch with family and friends. The advantage to email is that it is free compared to telephone, fax and postal services. Then, there is a huge amount of information available on the internet for just about every subject known to man, ranging from government law and services, trade fairs and conferences, market information, new ideas and technical support. Besides, many services are now provided on the internet such as online banking, job seeking and applications.  Next, the internet is a very effective way to buy and sell products all over the world. So, we should use the internet on the right way.

How to improve English(ii)

Hi, Today I still want to share tips how to improve our English.  There have a few tips that I want to share to you. To improve our English, we should watch English films and television.  This is not only a fun way to learn but it is also very effective.  By watching English films (especially those with English subtitles) you can expand your vocabulary and hear the flow of speech from the actors.  If you listen to the news you can also hear different accents. Then, listen to English music.  Music can be a very effective method of learning English.  In fact, it is often used as a way of improving comprehension.  The best way to learn though is to get the lyrics (words) to the songs you are listening to and try to read them as the artist sings.  There are several good internet sites where one can find the words for most songs. This way you can practice your listening and reading at the same time.  Besides, do exercises and take tests. Many people think that exercises and tests aren't much fun.  However, by completing exercises and taking tests you can really improve your English. One of the best reasons for doing lots of exercises and tests is that they give you a benchmark to compare your future results with. Next, record yourself. Nobody likes to hear their own voice on tape but like tests, it is good to compare your tapes from time to time.  You may be so impressed with the progress you are making that you may not mind the sound of your voice as much. Lastly, listen to English. By this, we mean, speak on the phone or listen to radio broadcasts or CDs in English. This is different than watching the television or films because you can’t see the person that is speaking to you.  Many learners of English say that speaking on the phone is one of the most difficult things that they do and the only way to improve is to practice.
